Bed Bug Remediation In Apartment Buildings

There are a few things worth noting to ensure the succeful treatment of apartments:

– If you are relatively certain that the infestation is contained to your unit, great!  Localized steam heat is effective and ensures that bugs won’t run to neighboring units.

– If you are unsure how bed bugs entered your home, or you noticed a sudden influx of many bugs, it might be worth considering the possibility that they traveled through the walls from neighboring units. It’s unfortunate and unfair, but it happens all the time. It’s worth it to have an awkward conversation with your neighbors, landlord, or property managment company. If multiple neighboring units are infested, it is possible that we may not be your best choice, but if we can’t do it, we will refer you to someone who can.

– If you are renting or are part of an HOA, read your lease/agreemtn. Sometimes they won’t let you hire an outside company without their approval. And sometimes the management company will even help pay for treatment. Whatever happens, make sure  you insist on a modern form of heat remediation.

Bed Bug Extermination for your Home

– What You Can Expect –

Finding bed bugs in your home is far from ideal, but we are here to make the situation as convenient and painless as possible. If, after we speak on the phone, you decide to schedule a treatment, we will ask you to follow our preparation list prior to the treatment. When we arrive, we will answer any questions you may have prior to proceeding. We will start with a tour of your house and ask for a more detailed run-down of the situation. Our technician will then give you a final price and have you sign an authorization to move forward with the work. After everything is agreed upon, your technician will begin the treatment.

When we finish the service, your technician will give you a detailed summary of our findings. Your technician will then give you tips on the best methods to ensure you prevent a reinfestation in the future, as well as present any other pertinent information. After we leave, everything can go back to normal. Your only obligation after that is to enjoy a good night’s sleep! And if, worst case scenario, your infestation persists, we will retreat your home as many times as needed at no additional cost. If for some reason we still can’t solve your problem, you will receive your money back. We have been doing this for almost a decade and we have 99% success rate!

We service homes in Boston, Medford, Cambridge, Brookline, Arlington and surrounding areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

We are here to make the process as painless as possible. Below are answers to some of the most common inquiries we receive. If you have any further questions, please call us!

How Long Will it Take?

The time it takes to complete a job varies on the size of home, level of infestation and thoroughness of preparation work. We can give you a better idea when we arrive, but for a general idea, we typically schedule about 1.5 hours per bedroom and a half hour for each living room.

Do I Have To Leave The House?

No. Since our process is pesticide free, and the steam heat is localized, you do not have to leave the home. In fact, sometimes it is nice for us to have someone to answer questions as we go, help us move large or delicate pieces of furniture, or just indulge in a good conversation. Pesticide companies kick you out so you aren’t exposed to the chemicals, and thermal heat companies make you leave all day, sometimes overnight, so the house can be heated and stay that way. We are the only process out there that doesn’t require you exit your home for the treatment.

Is It Safe For My Pets?

Absolutely! We are animal lovers too, and would never do anything to harm your furry family. Our process is completely chemical free and safe for all pets. We ask that dogs and cats be taken to a contained area and brushed thoroughly before treatment to ensure no bugs have hitched a ride. Other pets like lizards, birds, and hamsters are safe too! Our steam heat is localized, so we will just avoid the caged area and everyone will be safe.

What About Bathrooms and Kitchen?

Very rarely are bedbugs found in the bathrooms, and even less often are they found in the kitchen. In cases where bugs have been found in the bathroom, we ask that you dry towels,  we will treat the floor mats as well as the perimeter of the bathroom and around the vanity. Nothing needs to be done in the kitchen at all, unless bugs have been found there.
